The Motability contract hire scheme offers new cars and worry-free motoring:

• Insurance, maintenance and breakdown cover all included in a single monthly payment.
• Mileage allowance of 45,000 miles over three years.
• Many cars, including automatics, available simply by transferring your allowance to Motability for the three-year period. (On larger or more expensive cars, an advance payment may also be required.)

Additional financial help

You may be able to get additional financial help towards the right solution for your mobility needs e.g. a larger car, adaptations, or a wheelchair accessible vehicle.

Who can use the Motability schemes?

To use any of the Motability schemes, the only requirement is that you are receiving one of the following benefits:

• Higher Rate Mobility component of the Disability Living Allowance
• War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement

You should expect to receive the allowance for the full length of the agreement you choose. But don’t worry; we welcome applications as long as you have at least 12 months award length remaining when you apply. No waiting lists, credit checks or other restrictions apply.

• If you don’t drive but receive the allowance, you can apply for a car as a passenger and propose two other people as your drivers.
• Equally, a parent or carer can also apply on behalf of child aged three or older, who is receiving higher rate mobility allowance.
